Gone Fishin'

I know of four places in the Bible where God and/or Jesus went fishing or talked about it.  I thought about each one of these events and I decided that I liked the fact that Christ lived near the sea, and that He considered fishing to be an important part of the His mission.  My own story with asking God to go fishing with me goes like this:

I have always considered myself to be an intelligent person, but never have I dreamed of being the type of person who can visualize exactly what God's will is for me. I stumble with it all the time, and I make bad judgments about what I "think" is His will. So, knowing that Jesus asked Peter and his crew to back their boats back onto the Sea of Galilee, and to put their nets down in the deeper waters because He, Jesus, KNEW the fish were sitting there and He KNEW they were not suppose to have been caught by the boys the night before, I decided to stop working my bum off and to let Him go fishing with me.  I asked Jesus point blank to do with me what my Grandpa Edwards used to do when we went fishing.
I was 5. I would sit next to my Pappa, and he would put the bait on my hook.  He would give the pole to me to hold for a second, then he'd take it back and throw it out for me. I didn't know HOW to cast.  He did, and he got the hook and bait waaaayyy out there.  Where the fish were.  Then, when the time was right, a fish would come up and bite....I wasn't big enough to pull them in, so Pappa would do that too.  He even took the fish off the hook so I didn't get stuck by a gil, and he placed it in MY bucket...as if I had caught it.  That's what my earthly grandpa did for me.
Well, what more can our Heavenly Father do?  ALOT!!!  I asked him to take the controls of this book ordeal. I asked Him to cast the nets for me, and to find the readers.  (You had no idea you were being reeled in did you?) LOL  When Jesus sets  His mind to do something, it gets done.  I thank Him, and I dearly thank you as well for the thousands and thousands of books being sold.  To God be the glory, GREAT things He has done.  If I don't answer your e-mails and letters as fast as you may want me to, it could very well be that I'm out fishin' with my Father.  God Bless!
